The RMG physiatrists at Marianjoy take a holistic approach to treatment, and this may include acupuncture. Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body's flow of energy to promote natural healing and improve function. An acupuncture treatment is administered by applying tiny, sterile needles, with or without stimulation, at precise points on the body.

Medical acupuncture integrates various traditions into contemporary medical practice.

Acupuncture can help individuals who experience pain resulting from a variety of conditions. It is used to treat:

  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (RSD)
  • Post-stroke pain
  • Post-head injury pain
