About Us
Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is located in Wheaton, Illinois and offers acute inpatient rehabilitation, day rehabilitation and outpatient services to individuals recovering from illness or injury who require therapy to regain their function and independence. The main hospital is a free-standing 170,000-square-foot facility, with a number of unique inpatient and outpatient offerings, including specialty programs focused on treatment of stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, pediatric, orthopaedic/musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular disorders. Physical medicine and rehabilitation uses a medically based, multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Patients are treated by trained therapists and clinicians using the latest and most advanced rehabilitation technology available.

The Marianjoy Assistive Rehabilitation Technology Institute is located on the main Wheaton campus, offering patients access to an aquatic therapy center, a unique driver's rehabilitation program, a nationally recognized Swallowing Center, the Northwestern Medicine Aphasia Center at Marianjoy and other innovative programs focused on the delivery of therapy designed to help patients return to their optimal level of functioning. In 2016, the Tellabs Center for Neurorehabilitation and Neuroplasticity opened, creating the opportunity for further utilization of technology and research designed to help patients with their recovery.
Marianjoy was founded in 1972 as a nonprofit specialty teaching hospital by the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary of Wheaton, Illinois. Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and Clinics, Inc. along with its related entity, the Regional Medical Group are part of Northwestern Medicine healthcare system.
