Marianjoy Support and Resource Groups

Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Northwestern Medicine, provides support and resource groups at no cost as a community service. All groups meet at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Northwestern Medicine, unless otherwise noted. There is no cost to attend, and caregivers and family members are welcome to join attendees. Reservations are not required, but contact information is provided if you need more information.

ALS Support Group
Provides information and support to people affected by the motor neuron disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Fourth Saturday of each month
10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Amputee Support Group
Provides a supportive setting for educational opportunities, as well as social contacts and events.

Aphasia Conversation Group
Designed for anyone who is experiencing aphasia, or a change in language/communication following a stroke or injury. The group provides an outlet to practice communication in a group setting.

Caregiver's Seminar for Families of Marianjoy Inpatients
Provides support for families new to caregiving. Learn helpful hints, suggestions and resources for empowerment, as well as how to build a team of helpers and a strong support system.

Connections—Teen and Young Adult Brain Injury Support Group
For teens and young adults with brain injury.

High Hopes Brain Injury Support Group
A resource group for adults who have sustained a brain injury. Provides education on living with brain injury and coping with stress, and offers an outlet for socialization.

Lives in Motion—Spinal Cord Injury Resource Group
A resource group for those with paraplegia and quadriplegia. Attendees learn from others' experiences while discussing the realities and concerns regarding spinal cord injury. Members of Marianjoy's spinal cord injury therapy team will share their expertise on home modifications, wheelchairs, exercises, nutrition, sexuality, social re-integration, vocational rehabilitation and more.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group
Speakers from both Marianjoy and the community present information about multiple sclerosis (MS), including specific topics of interest suggested by the group. Education, resources and social events are also provided.

Offers a platform to socialize, share information and gather resources related to Parkinson's disease. Sessions include expert presentations and social events.
