President's Advisory Council

The President's Advisory Council is a volunteer group of community and business leaders who take an active interest in promoting Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital's best interests. They meet every other month to discuss and share opinions on important hospital initiatives and events with the President of Marianjoy, Kathleen Yosko.

Kathleen C. Yosko
President

Since 1998, Kathleen Yosko has served as president of the network of Marianjoy hospital and area clinics, part of Northwestern Medicine. She also serves as president of Marianjoy Medical Group, a physician clinic that specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

In her role as president of Marianjoy, Ms. Yosko represents the hospital and serves as an advocate for people with disabilities on the following boards or committees:

In 2007, Ms. Yosko was named Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA). She is a member of the Chicago Network, a group of distinguished women business leaders that is affiliated with the International Women's Forum, the Women's Health Executive Network, the Executives' Club and the Economics Club of Chicago.

Among her many honors and awards are:

  • Community Connection Award from the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • 1995 Don Burke Award for Executive Excellence from the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities
  • Carlow College Alumnae Service through Health Care Award
  • Touchstone Award from the American Society for Health Care Marketing and Public Relations
  • American Hospital Association's First Annual Strategy Award from the Hospital Society for Planning and Marketing.

Ms. Yosko has also been active in other professional organizations. She served as the chair of the Medical Rehabilitation Education Foundation (MREF) and served on the governing council of the American Hospital Association. Ms. Yosko has also served on the Governor's Community-Based Long Term Care Reform Committee.

Jeffrey E. Oken, M.D.
Vice President, Medical Affairs; Chief Medical Officer; Designated Intuitional Official for the Marianjoy Residency Program

Dr. Oken is the Vice President of Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Officer and Designated Intuitional Official for the Marianjoy Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital.

He is an associate professor at Rosalind Franklin College of Medicine and Science, as well as a lecturer for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Medical School. He has been a member of the Marianjoy Physician Council since 2001 and Board since 2000. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the DuPage County Medical Society. He has been selected as a "Best Doctor in America" for the last ten years.

A licensed physician and surgeon, Dr. Oken holds board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine and Spinal Cord Medicine from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Oken has also been a physician surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 1993.

Dr. Oken joined the Marianjoy Medical Group in 1991 as a staff physiatrist, and he has been a member of the Marianjoy Physician Council since 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He did an internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in internal medicine and then completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Northwestern University/the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where he was Chief Resident.

Teresa Chapman, SHRM-SCP
Vice President, Human Resources

Teresa Chapman is the Vice President of Human Resources at Marianjoy. She began her career at Marianjoy in 1988 and has led the human resources function since 2006. In her role, she is responsible for ensuring all human resources policies, procedures, practices and programs are implemented and managed. She partners with leadership to align and execute integrated human resources strategies based on business objectives and operational plans. Ms. Chapman has a B. A. in psychology from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and she has achieved the status of Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional.

Angela Killian
Vice President, Operations

Angela Killian is the Vice President of Operations at Marianjoy. She provides direct oversight to the Marianjoy network for several functions and programs, including: education; clinical outcomes; quality and research, including training and development; library services; accreditation; and performance improvement. Ms. Killian has a B. S. in occupational therapy and an MHS in Health Administration. She has over 30 years of experience within rehabilitation services, including strategic planning; budgeting; teaching in university and clinical settings; occupational therapy; consulting; and operational leadership. Ms. Killian has shared her expertise in numerous publications and regional presentations.

Dan Bunnell
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Dan Bunnell is the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Marianjoy, where he oversees all financial activity for the hospital network. His duties include leadership on financial planning, operational budgeting, accounting and financial reporting.

Prior to this role, Mr. Bunnell served as Investment Director for Northwestern Medicine. He oversaw the Public Equity and Hedged Equity Asset Classes within the investment portfolio. In addition to his investment duties, he spearheaded the valuation analysis for Northwestern Medicine's acquisition, affiliation and corporate development efforts.

Prior to joining Northwestern Medicine in 2012, Mr. Bunnell worked in hedge fund-investing at multiple financial investment groups. He began his career as a public accountant.

Mr. Bunnell graduated with honors from Villanova University with a B. S. in Accountancy and earned an MBA from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant.

Michael DeLaRosa,
Director, Physician Operations and Business Development

Michael DeLaRosa is the Director of Physician Operations and Business Development at Marianjoy. He manages Marianjoy Medical Group operations, including staffing, billing and finance matters. He collaborates closely with affiliated facilities and identifies new affiliate opportunities to optimize hospital service. Additionally, he recruits physicians as needed, due to program growth or succession planning.

Mr. DeLaRosa has a B. S. in advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with honors in the MBA health sector management program from DePaul University's Kellstadt Business School.

He has over seven years of experience in community hospitals and academic medical centers, including business development and physician relations in leadership positions. He has been an invited speaker at several healthcare conferences at both a national and international level.
