Marianjoy’s acupuncture program takes a holistic approach to treatment, which may include medication or physical therapy. Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body’s flow of energy to promote natural healing and improve function. An acupuncture treatment is administered by applying tiny, sterile needles, with or without stimulation, at precise points on the body.

Medical acupuncture is a discipline having a central core of knowledge, embracing the integration of acupuncture from various traditions into contemporary medical practice.

Acupuncture can help individuals who experience pain as a result of a variety of conditions. It is used to treat:

  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Myofacial pain syndrome
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (RSD)
  • Stroke
  • Head injury
